The UM Fitness & Wellness Centre, going on its 20th year of leading a fit and healthy lifestyle for the students of the University of Mindanao, have stayed true to its commitment of promoting health and wellness through exercise, positive mental attitude, spiritual quotient and pleasing personality for the student populace.
Christmas as a season of celebration and merry-making marked yet another memorable milestone for the UM Fitness & Wellness Centre. Special Physical Education students of the University of Mindanao gathered last December 20, 2008 at the UM Main Gym for a reverberating celebration of the UMFWC Christmas Festival 2008.
Thousands of students party all day long with dancing and singing. The party was made more resounding with the presence of no less than 92.3 Wild FM as its official sound and world-class lights effect provider. 92.3 Wild FM is the leader in party and disco sounds that proliferates the airwaves. It has given Davaoeños an opportunity to party with an international taste of sounds.
UMFWC Christmas Festival 2008 comprise of a lot of events that showcase the talents and expertise of the students of the University of Mindanao. A Cheering competition opens the festival, which shocks guests of how students of UM could be so creative in terms of choreography and techniques. Ofcourse, there is a Christmas Caroling Competition in honor of the true reason of the celebration, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
One event that really brought the house down was the Music Video (MTV) Bloopers Contest, which showed students of UM having a bright future in the comedy industry. Dancing as a way to fitness was never out of the picture during the festival as a Dance Showdown was also held showcasing the hidden talents of UM students in dancing at its best with precision and grace.
